Karyll Lyndon De Lara

Paraplanner (Offshore Team)

Professional Journey

I have worked in the Australian financial planning industry since 2016, building a career that has progressively expanded in technical depth and responsibility. Over this time, I have gained 7 years’ experience as a Paraplanner, beginning with core support responsibilities such as data collection, financial modelling and assisting with the preparation of advice documents. As my expertise developed, I moved into handling more complex superannuation, retirement, investment and insurance strategies, taking ownership of detailed research, strategy modelling and the drafting of clear, compliant Statements of Advice and Records of Advice. Alongside this technical growth, I have also stepped into leadership‑style responsibilities, including supervising and training junior staff, guiding workflow and contributing to improvements in advice processes, documentation standards and overall team efficiency.

Life Beyond Financial Planning

I used to bike a lot and have hiked extensively, including reaching Mt Apo, the highest peak in the Philippines, twice. I’m keen to get back into outdoor adventures, and I also love cooking—once even dreaming of becoming a chef—so I often experiment in the kitchen when I can. I’m very much a homebody who enjoys relaxing and recharging in my own space, and in my downtime I gravitate towards political, crime investigation, sci‑fi and spy‑themed movies and series that combine suspense with complex, strategic storylines.
