Proud to Support the Brighton Running Festival
Dalton Financial Partners was proud to be the main sponsor of Race Hub Australia at the Brighton Running Festival on Sunday, 16 August.
It was a fantastic day celebrating fitness, perseverance and community spirit. From first-time participants to experienced runners, it was inspiring to see so many people come together, challenge themselves and support one another throughout the event.
We were especially proud to see members of our Dalton FP team take part across the different events. It was a great opportunity to step outside the office, embrace a personal challenge and share in the energy of the day.
Congratulations to everyone who ran, volunteered, supported or cheered from the sidelines. Events like the Brighton Running Festival are a wonderful reminder of the strength of our local community and what can be achieved when people come together.
Thank you to Race Hub Australia and everyone involved in making the day such a success. We are already looking forward to being part of it again next year. 🏃♀️🏃♂️🎉
Backing Our Clients’ Passions
At Dalton Financial Partners, we were proud to support one of our valued clients as they recently took part in a remarkable rally experience.
With the backing of a generous community, they achieved an outstanding result—finishing among the top 20 fundraisers. It’s a fantastic accomplishment and a testament to the impact that collective support can have.
From all accounts, the rally was an unforgettable journey. In a twist of events, the vehicles performed exceptionally well throughout, leaving little time spent on the roadside for breakdowns—great for the drivers, though it meant fewer behind-the-scenes moments captured along the way.
We’re pleased to share a selection of photos from the rally below.
It’s also been a big month for automotive events within our client community. We recently had the pleasure of supporting another client who participated in a Mazda RX-7 event, celebrating a shared passion for performance vehicles and motorsport culture.
At Dalton FP, we value the opportunity to support our clients not only in their financial journeys, but also in the personal pursuits and passions that matter most to them.
Dalton FP Partners with The Salvos
This year, through our partnership with The Salvation Army’s Community Salvos campaign, those decisions became something far greater. Together, we raised an incredible $30,910 — turning everyday tax planning into real, life-changing support for Australians doing it tough.
But this impact wasn’t created by us alone. It was made possible by our clients.
Your willingness to give, to think beyond your own financial position, and to use a simple tax deduction as a force for good is what brought this to life. We’re incredibly grateful — this result truly reflects the generosity and values of the Dalton FP community.
Behind that number are real people. Families facing sudden hardship. Individuals navigating loss, housing insecurity, or financial distress. And because of this collective effort, many of them have been able to access emergency accommodation, put food on the table, and begin rebuilding their lives.
Recently, we had the privilege of welcoming Derek from The Salvation Army to our Brisbane office. What he shared wasn’t just an update — it was a powerful reminder of why this matters.
Through deeply personal case stories, Derek brought the impact to life. Stories of resilience. Of second chances. Of people who, with the right support at the right time, were able to find stability and hope again.
It’s easy to think of tax deductions as routine. But moments like this remind us they can be something more — a simple, intentional choice that creates meaningful change in someone else’s life.
We are incredibly proud of what’s been achieved together and deeply thankful to every client who contributed.
Because this isn’t just about financial outcomes. It’s about people — and the difference we can make, together.

Turning Tax Deductions into Real Change: Dalton FP Partnering with The Salvos
At Dalton Financial Partners, we see every day how the rising cost of living is putting real pressure on Australian households. Clients share stories of stretched budgets, higher rents and mortgages, and the growing challenge of keeping up with everyday expenses. At the same time, The Salvation Army is seeing more people than ever seeking help with the basics of life – food, housing and emergency support.
Many of these people have faced circumstances far beyond their control. It is a powerful reminder of how fortunate many of us are, and of the important role community support plays when times are tough.
Why we’re supporting The Salvation Army
This year, we’ve chosen to partner with The Salvation Army to help provide practical support to Australians doing it tough. The Salvos are on the frontline, offering food relief, crisis accommodation, emergency financial assistance and other essential services to individuals and families in need.
For clients still on higher incomes, donating to The Salvation Army before 30 June can be more than just an act of generosity – it can also be a smart financial decision. Donations to The Salvation Army’s social work in Australia are tax-deductible, which means you can make a meaningful difference while also potentially improving your tax position at EOFY.
For our self‑funded retirees and clients for whom tax is no longer a major consideration, we simply see this as a chance to support people who have not had the same good fortune in life or who have found themselves on a difficult path.
Double your impact with matched donations
To make this campaign even more powerful, Dalton Financial Partners is matching donations. Our fundraising goal is $25,000, and we have committed to contribute up to $10,000 towards that target.
Once total donations reach $5,000, every additional donation will be matched dollar‑for‑dollar by Dalton Financial Partners until our $10,000 cap is reached. In other words, during the matching phase, every dollar you give can be doubled – turning a $100 donation into $200 of support for people in need.
This is a simple way to magnify your generosity and help us reach our goal faster.
How you can get involved
We’re inviting our clients, colleagues, family, friends and broader community to join us in this effort. Here’s how you can help:
Make a tax-deductible donation before 30 June
Share our fundraising page with your networks
Encourage others to give and take advantage of the matching donations
You can donate directly via our campaign page here:
Turn tax deductions into real change – Dalton FP partnering with The Salvos
A small action, a real difference
EOFY is a time when many of us are reviewing our finances, planning ahead and thinking about the bigger picture. It’s also a moment to consider the impact we can have on the lives of others.
By supporting this fundraiser, you’re not just making a financial contribution – you’re helping provide food on the table, a safe place to sleep, and vital support for people facing some of life’s toughest challenges.
From all of us at Dalton Financial Partners, thank you for your generosity and for helping us turn tax deductions into real change.

Wholistic advice and why it matters for families
Here at Dalton Financial Partners, holistic advice is more than just a buzzword – it’s the way we design our service and measure success for our clients. For us, holistic means looking at every part of your financial life, not just super and investments, so your decisions genuinely support the life you want for your family.
In a recent Q&A with ifa, our founder Josh Dalton, winner of Holistic Adviser of the Year – Queensland at the 2025 ifa Excellence Awards, shared why this approach matters so much for modern families – from helping adult children into the property market, to planning business exits, to making sure great strategies are actually implemented over time.
If you’d like to dive deeper into how true holistic advice works in practice, you can read the full interview on ifa here:

Celebrating Our Competition Winners!
At the end of last year, we held a fun Google Review competition to celebrate and thank our amazing clients for their continued support. We’re always so grateful for the feedback and kind words that help our business grow and improve — and this competition was a wonderful way to give a little something back.
We were thrilled to announce our lucky winners: Peta, Eric, Casey, Elliot, Judy, and Owen! Your thoughtful reviews truly made our day, and we couldn’t be happier to share some great prizes with you.
A few of the prizes were hand-delivered — it was such a great chance to catch up in person and personally thank you for being part of our community. Seeing your smiles made this competition all the more special.
To everyone who took the time to leave us a review, thank you again. Your support means the world to us, and we look forward to finding more fun ways to connect throughout the year ahead.
Handwritten Christmas cards with a bigger purpose
Every year, our team writes handwritten Christmas cards to our clients. In a busy, digital world, taking the time to write a personal note is our way of saying a genuine thank you for the trust and support you show us.
This year, our cards also support Lifeline, a national charity providing 24/7 crisis support and suicide‑prevention services to Australians experiencing emotional distress. Lifeline’s trained crisis supporters are available by phone, text and online chat, day and night, for anyone who needs a safe, non‑judgmental space to talk.
The festive season can be especially tough—feelings of loneliness, stress, grief and financial pressure often intensify when everything around us looks “joyful”. By choosing Lifeline cards, we want each envelope to carry not only our appreciation, but also a quiet reminder to check in on the people around us and to reach out for support if we need it.
From our team to you and your loved ones, thank you for being part of our community.
Accelerating Forward: Dalton FP at Netwealth Summit 2025
Luis and Liam had a blast at the Netwealth Accelerate Summit 2025 in Melbourne! The day buzzed with ideas on AI, tech, client engagement, and fresh ways to keep advice innovative and fun. From energising talks to hands-on sessions, they’re bringing back plenty of inspiration to help Dalton FP—and our clients—thrive, now and in the future.
Why Transparency in Financial Advice Matters
Following the recent 60 Minutes story about the collapse of First Guardian and Shield Master funds, we wanted to share our thoughts on this situation. Please note that Dalton Financial Partners has no association or involvement with either First Guardian or Shield.
The failure of these funds has left around 12,000 Australians out of pocket after advisers and trustees pushed people into high-risk investments without proper transparency or oversight. Investigations revealed serious mismanagement and misleading advice, exposing gaps in the protection clients expected for their retirement savings.
This incident underscores the importance of transparency and good governance in financial advice. Clients should always ask how advisers are paid and understand what their money is being invested in. Good planners are up front about fees and never recommend products based on hidden sales incentives or commissions. Many of the failed fund recommendations originated in cold calls—a clear warning, as sales-driven advice is never in your best interests.
First Guardian and Shield Master fund invested in complex and high-risk ventures, including overseas property developments and related-party transactions. For example, First Guardian allocated superannuation funds to a brewery project and property deals linked to its director, often without adequate disclosure to clients, leaving many unaware of the real risks involved.
At Dalton Financial Partners, our fee structure is transparent, and we receive the same payment regardless of which products we recommend, ensuring our advice is always geared toward your best interests. We never cold call, and our recommendations are based on experience and genuine care for our clients. We strive to ensure you understand your investments, preferring transparent superannuation platforms like Wrap accounts.
It’s also important to clarify that while the 60 Minutes story suggested a total loss for the affected clients, many should recover a portion of their funds as remaining fund assets are sold down. In addition, firms like ours contribute to the Compensation Scheme of Last Resort (CSLR), a special fund designed to help compensate those impacted by Advice failures—making financial advice the only industry in Australia to offer this extra protection for consumers.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns you would like to discuss, please reach out.
Dalton Finance in the Community
Gold Sponsorship – St Kieran’s Primary School, Brighton
At Dalton Finance, we believe that supporting families goes beyond financial services—it’s also about investing in the communities we serve.
That’s why we’re proud to be a Gold Sponsor of St Kieran’s Primary School Brighton and their much-loved “Christmas in July” Fete 2025.
This wonderful event is all about bringing people together, fostering connection, and celebrating the spirit of community. For us, sponsorship is more than a contribution—it’s a commitment to helping create experiences and opportunities that benefit local families now and into the future.
We’re excited to celebrate alongside St Kieran’s and look forward to continuing our support of initiatives that make a lasting difference in the community we’re lucky to be part of.

Supporting Our Client’s
We’re proud to share the inspiring journey of one of our valued clients who recently participated in the Variety 4WD Adventure—a challenging multi-day event dedicated to supporting Aussie kids in need. With determination, resilience, and the support of Dalton Financial Partners, our client took on this adventure to help make a meaningful difference in the lives of children facing tough circumstances. We were honored to contribute to this cause and support our client’s commitment to giving every child a fair go.
Together, we helped raise vital funds that will provide essential support to children who are sick, disadvantaged, or living with disabilities. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to follow their dreams and reach their full potential, and we’re proud to stand behind initiatives that make this possible.

Vinnies CEO Sleepout 2025
In 2023, a group of us at Dalton FP took part in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout, stepping into the shoes of those facing homelessness. On June 22nd, we experienced the cold, rain, and sleeplessness that so many endure nightly. Thanks to the generous support of our clients, friends, and family, we raised $12,600—a humbling achievement that reminded us how fortunate we are to have homes, meals, and loved ones to rely on.
Re-Launching the Mission in 2025
Now, two years later, we’re preparing to take on the challenge again. On Thursday, June 19th, 2025, Dalton FP will once more participate in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout. This time, we’re setting an ambitious goal: to raise $15,000 for this vital cause.
Homelessness remains a pressing issue in Australia, and its presence is becoming increasingly visible in our local communities. We see it in the tents set up in parks and the cars that have become temporary homes for those with nowhere else to go. This is not just a social issue; it's a national crisis that demands our attention and action. The latest projections indicate that there will be approximately 127,680 homeless people in Australia by 2025, highlighting the urgent need for support.
How You Can Help
We can’t do this without your support. Here’s how you can get involved:
Donate: Every dollar counts! Your contribution will go directly toward providing shelter, warm meals, and essential services for those in need.
Spread the Word: Share our mission with your friends, family, and colleagues to help us reach our $15,000 goal.
Reflect and Act: Take a moment to consider how you can make a difference in your community—whether it’s through volunteering or simply showing kindness to someone in need.
Why This Matters
We believe that a city is measured by how it helps its most disadvantaged. Homelessness is not just about statistics; it's about people who deserve dignity and support. Participating in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout is more than just one night out in the cold—it’s about standing in solidarity with those who face these challenges every day and taking action to create change.
Let’s come together as a community once more to make a difference. Join us on this journey as we strive to raise $15,000 and continue supporting Vinnies’ incredible work.
Together, we can help bring hope and warmth where it’s needed most. See you on June 19th!

Chickens and Christmas Cards: A Gift That Keeps on Giving
Writing Christmas cards for our amazing clients has become quite the task—but it’s all worth it! This year, each card we send does more than spread holiday cheer. For every card, we’re donating a chicken to a family in need through Caritas Australia.
Chickens provide food and income, helping families become self-sufficient. It’s a small way to give back, and we’re proud to share this with you.
To all our wonderful clients: your support means the world to us. Here’s to a joyful season and making a difference together!
